This blog is about a silly redhead in her 50's enjoying life in Pismo Beach, CA. It's about her journey into the second half of her life. Taking to the road in her 2013 Ford Focus and finding what is down the road.

Tell Me One of Your Favorite Spots (cont'd)

Since I was new, I had no idea what the words: Pirate Cove meant. Most locals would giggle if you said it. As it turns out its a clothing optional beach. Yep that's right, its a nudist beach. You can't tell very well by this photo, but trust me there are little specks of people on the beach. You have to hike down the mount

Tell Me One of Your Favorite Spots

Cave Landing and Pirate Cove
I moved to the central coast about 2 years ago. When I would meet someone new I would ask, tell me one of your favorite places here on the central coast. Often they would take me there. This was my first venture to such a place, I visited here June of 2007. As it turned it, it was a big surprise for several reasons. One it takes bit to get there. You take the Avila Beach Road exit, drive about 2 miles turn on to Cave Landing Road. Then you go up a side of mountain. Find a parking lot. Begin the trek down the side of the mountain. My friend failed to mention a few important details. First he took me to the cave, the natural rock formation. Then next Pirate's Cove, continued on next post.

Visit from my son, Steven

The top photo is me and my son taken at Pismo Beach, Easter weekend of 2008.
The bottom photo is my daughter, Christie and on my son, Steven.
They are two of my favorite people in the whole wide world!
I was very happy this past March, my son, Steven came to visit me in Pismo. I had not seen him for a while and I was happy he was able to visit for 4 days. My son brought his wonderful girlfriend Jennifer, I took them all over the area. We visited the Pismo Beach pier, Downtown San Luis Obispo, and other hotspots around the area. I took them out for a nice steak dinner at AJ Spurs in Arroyo Grande. They really liked the area, they may try and figure out a way to live here, I am all for that!
Joining the Gym

Well...I finally did it, I joined the gym. Bought a full year's membership, now I have to go right? I have not been feeling well and I really didn't like the number that kept popping up on the bathroom scale. I decided it was time to start doing something about it. I bought some comfy clothes, got out my favorite Nike sports shoes, barely used, and headed down to the gym. For now, I am walking 20 minutes on the treadmill at moderate speed. I am also doing some weight training for my arms and legs.
